For trains on the Bristol - Weymouth line click here

To see if the train is going to be on time, click here and scroll down to Live Departures.      If the Ticket Office is closed and the ticket machine on the station forecourt is not working you can pay on the train.     There is a large car park but it gets quite full. If you would like to pay parking charges in advance contact APCOA; their location reference for this station is 2110.     Travelling on a Saturday or Sunday? Because of frequent engineering works the train company advise you to check your times with National Rail Enquiries.

Exeter is about 50 minutes from Castle Cary,  Plymouth about two hours. For fuller details click here and scroll down to find West 1; its icon will appear in your left hand bottom margin. A handy GWR pocket timetable (East 4: London to Castle Cary) is available at the Booking Office or at the Council Office at Bruton, as is the full timetable for London Paddington to the West Country (West 1). For the convenience of Bruton people we now have a special timetable for buses (Monday to Friday) between Bruton and this station: click here for it. As a voluntary organisation we can accept no responsibility for errors or changes in times; but if you do see an error we’d be very grateful if you would kindly let us know by using the Feedback page. South West Trains to and from Waterloo are shown in blue. The 1523 comes in from Waterloo and goes back there via Yeovil Junction; the 1707 to Waterloo starts from Yeovil Pen Mill. There is a later train too; (can’t fit it into the table!) the 1940 gets you to Waterloo at 2258 with a change at  Salisbury; the 2141 only goes to Salisbury but it does connect at Westbury with a late train to Bristol.. For their full timetable click on SWT. From  5 August the service may continue under a new consortium, GWR/MTR. We have no news yet of their plans but watch this space nearer the time.
